Opening Night

MISS SAIGON made its highly anticipated return to London on the May 21, 2014 at the Prince Edward Theatre, in the musical’s 25th anniversary year.

Miss Saigon was the last of the original mega-musicals created in the West End when it originally premiered at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in 1989. Its return to town now – 15 years on from when that original production closed – isn’t just the chance to present a historical curiosity, but an opportunity for producer Cameron Mackintosh both to reinvent it for a new generation and reinvest it with an even bigger sense of scale and overwhelming spectacle. Mark Shenton – The Stage Review

This epic love story tells the tragic tale of young bar girl Kim, orphaned by war, who falls in love with an American GI called Chris–but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.
